With the recent heat wave (at least the second week over 95 with hardly any rain, it’s like being in the dryer full blast non stop), the only place we’re running these days is INSIDE. No wonder the art museum’s advertising just has one thing on it for the summer - a great big number: 68. That’s the temperature they keep all summer long!
And the men who are underwater underneath the girls’ feet seem pretty cool too.
1 HOUSTON SUMMER +
1 NEW SUN DRESS +
1 FIRE HOSE THINGY +
1 CRAZY 250 GALLON BUCKET WAY UP IN THE AIR WAITING TO TIP OVER
= IRRESISTIBLE FUN AND CUTENESS
(Have I mentioned today that I just love this kid?)
Ah, the lazy days of summer. The girls took a trip to the dollar store and got some…hair. I think they’re trying to send me a subtle message that they want me to let them grow their hair longer! Ha - not until they brush it themselves, without complaint. In the meantime, they’ll just have to settle for the milkmaid look here for a while. Check out the whole tarot-card-reader look that Sophie is sporting here. All she needs is that crystal ball and some long, press-on nails…
Meanwhile, this photo of Maddie *so* reminded me of something I couldn’t put my finger on…and then I found it.
Vermeer! Don’t you think? Except of course, with great big smileys and a bit more ethnic…and a LOT cuter.
I’ll have to think awhile to connect Soph with master painters…perhaps she’s more cubist-Picasso? Or just a splatty Jackson Pollock? Or maybe more like Boccioni, moving everywhere at once…
