It’s time. We dropped off the kids at Grandma and Grandpa’s, and tucked them in for the next 18 days. All the way to their house, marvelous Maddie kept saying:
“Our dream came true! It really came true! Josie’s coming home!”
And you know, she’s right. We’re off early in the morning on our next adventure. Wish us luck!
We just got updated info on our upcoming Gotcha Day for little Josie — looks like it will be Sunday, July 4 in Nanchang! THAT will be easy to remember in the years to come…now if we could only think of holidays for the other two…
Just another day trying to keep cool in Houston. Some days, you just need to go for it!
No. Really. Has it REALLY been 6 months since I updated this thing? Well, you see, things suddenly got busy…
Things like THIS:
Some things are worth the wait! Josie, here we come!
And THIS:
(This is kindof a yin/yang of Sophie - except that I’m pretty sure she has no interest whatsoever in football. She just wanted the face paint.)
And THIS:
How did they spend their first morning of summer vacation? Drawing with bobby pins, hair clips and ponytail bands. Don’t ever let them tell you that you can’t be creative with the humblest of tools!
And THIS:
We’re on our second puzzle of the summer - this one is 1000 pieces. Should keep us out of trouble until we leave for China in a couple of weeks! Good thing the girls are interested - because I’m getting too old to see the pieces (ha!).
Which brings us back to THIS:
Getting the house ready for another little one has been fun - for everyone! Mad and Soph have been picking all the clothes (hope Josie likes their taste), and we’ve been revisiting long forgotten items in storage (diaper pails! potty seats! high chairs!). But really - from a just-after Mother’s Day referral to a just after Father’s Day Gotcha Day — Josie, this will be a year to remember. Can’t wait!
