Ah. The signs of Christmas appear all over the house…
The “Christmas Story” leg lamp (always classy, of course).
Poor Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree - complete with blanket. We even put it on the piano!
And of course, the real Christmas tree, which truthfully is always lovely.
And…what? Children dusting furniture??? Yes, we are keeping them out of trouble so that lumps of coal don’t find them tomorrow. Doesn’t Sophie look happy about it?
I mean, does this look like a girl who is being forced to do chores on Christmas Eve? I think not. She’s downright tickled to do it.
Josie, of course, is doing her part. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
What I really want to know is, when did these two grow up to be such beautiful big kids? Shall I threaten to starve them again? They’re certainly not getting any of those cookies they are decorating…Though that frosting looks like it might stunt something or another, so…maybe they can have one after all.
Tonight I am feeling thankful for so many things. That my family is made up of wonderful, generous and thoughtful people. That we have the amazing blessing of being able to spend this Christmas with three miraculous, magical children. And that we have their love, which could have been anyone else’s but is ours to have and hold. These are some of the best gifts ever.
(And I’m not just saying that out of gift-wrapping delirium! Though I have that too.)
Merry Christmas, everyone!
